BLACKPINK's speech to encourage climate behavior "Efforts for a better, more equal, sustainable world"

 

 

 

"We will strive to create a better, more equal, and sustainable world."

The group BLACKPINK made the remarks while attending an environmental-themed Google online event and giving a speech encouraging climate behavior.
BLACKPINK was the only K-pop star to attend the 100-minute relay event "Dear Earth" on the 23rd (local time in the U.S.) and became the only special speaker. 

"Dear Us" is a climate crisis campaign event that combines speeches, performances, and documentaries by celebrities such as Pope Francis, 
former U.S. President Barack Obama, Google Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, and singer Billy Eilish.

On this day, BLACKPINK members spoke in Korean, English, and Thai to promote the seriousness of the climate crisis such as global warming and to work together to save the Earth.

Member Jenny said, "We are the first generation to grow up in the digital age and that special generation," adding, "Since the times we live face a common problem, we are united once again today."

The index continued, "Climate change is clearly taking place. We all know that nature is disappearing, he said. 
"We will try to create a better, more equal, and sustainable world."
Lisa also said, "Global warming is accelerating rapidly. If this continues, the Earth itself that we need to preserve may disappear, he said. 
He said, "But our generation is never helpless. Our voices will never be overlooked. We have an important say," he said. Rose also stressed,
 "We must move together toward the common goal of saving the Earth."
BLACKPINK also performed "STAY," the title song of the album "SQUARE TWO" released in November 2016, at the event.
 "Stay" is a song with the message of "anxiety that seems to leave me and an eager desire to be by my side."


BLACKPINK has consistently voiced the climate crisis, serving as an ambassador for the UN Convention on Climate Change (COP26).
